Sabrejet Posted July 24, 2013 Author Share #161 Posted July 24, 2013 Medical camp. This year the organizers changed the rules. "Patton's Field" was deemed exclusively "green"...in other words, all of the tentage had to be of a military nature...no civilian tents. The overall effect was quite dramatic...a few acres of OD tents, just like a pre D-Day camp!
Sabrejet Posted July 24, 2013 Author Share #162 Posted July 24, 2013 Perhaps the most distinctive Jeep on show...from Germany. American forum-ers will notice the national licence plates on each Jeep bearing the EU country codes on a blue background..."D" = Deutschland / Germany. Most of the British owned vehicles display obsolete dull silver on black stamped aluminium plates which are more in-period for WW2.

Sabrejet Posted July 24, 2013 Author Share #169 Posted July 24, 2013 As you might see in the preceding photos, the German "dunkel gelb" based camo scheme is very effective in the dry, dusty European summer landscape, as would have been encountered in Normandy, '44....more so than overall OD.
