Scott C. Posted April 8, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 8, 2008 I'd like to share my modest collection of aviation-related (mostly) sweetheart and homefront pins. Most are WWII vintage, but a few from before and after the war. I've enjoyed collecting these over the years, but the ever increasing prices make finding a 'bargain' a rare treat. Thanks for looking. craig_pickrall Posted April 8, 2008 Share #3 Posted April 8, 2008 Very impressive collection. Congratulations! Is the BIG USAAF braclet as bulky and heavy as it looks? That seems awfully big for a sweetheart item.
Scott C. Posted April 9, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted April 9, 2008 Thanks Craig. The big bracelet is made up of thin (but solid) wafers of sterling silver. It weighs 32g/1.14oz. There's a maker mark, but it's very small.
PATCHRAT Posted April 26, 2008 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2008 Great collection. Are the mini wings just ISSUE mini wings or are they made for / as sweetheart items? forgive my ignorence. I posted a picture a while back that shows the soldier wearing the small wing on his overseas hat.
