doyler Posted April 7, 2008 #1 Posted April 7, 2008 This uniform belonged to Captain Eugene Trefethen Seaward.He recieved the Navy Cross while engaging the Japanese while commanding the USS FARENHOLT on the night of 11 October 1942 off Savo Island.Awarded for extraordinary heroism during the engagement.The uniform is dated 1928 and he was agraduate of Annapolis.APPEARS HE WAS MADE rEAR aDMIRAL ON 6-30-1954.I plan to do some further research and have to thank Mike Walsh for his help and suggestions.
doyler Posted April 7, 2008 Author #2 Posted April 7, 2008 Here are his ribbons.Not all of his awards are shown as the discharge I have shows a V device for the bronze star and two for his Navy commendation.
