Johan Willaert Posted July 14, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2013 A friend is currently restoring a 1940 Dodge VC-3 Truck and since it was acquired from Pennsylvania he would like to put markings from the 28th Div Penna NG on it... Can anyone supply examples on period pictures that show the style of the markings??? Thanks JOhan

everforward Posted July 16, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 16, 2013 Hmm...pretty similar to how the pre-war Virginia NG marked their vehicles.....
Johan Willaert Posted July 16, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted July 16, 2013 Hmm...pretty similar to how the pre-war Virginia NG marked their vehicles..... Any pictures of that??? My guess is that the USA number was painted on the hood (inside and out???) and on the back of the vehicle... Unit markings were one row between bottom and top lines, not mentioning division, but rather restricted to Regimental level and company...

If you ask for "Charlie" (I think he's still there) that runs the place, he is a wealth of knowledge or least be able to refer you to the right place.
