hawkdriver Posted July 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 10, 2013 Today, when I got to work, I got this birthday well wish from my Chief Master Warrant Officer: Subject: Today is the Warrant Officer's 95th Birthday (UNCLASSIFIED) Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: FOUO Today is the Warrant Officer Cohort 95th Birthday, On 9 July 1918, Congress established the rank and grade of warrant officer concurrent with establishing the Army Mine Planter Service within the Coast Artillery Corps. From the Mine planter which was the first WO branch to today, the Army warrant officer is a technical expert, combat leader, trainer, and advisor in 45 basic military occupational specialties. The warrant officers serve in 15 branches of the service spanning the Active Component, the Army National Guard, and the U.S. Army Reserve. I just wanted to take the time out to thank all of the warrant officers for your perseverance and hard work to your craft. It is because of the Warrant that this Army is able to be the success it is today. The "Quiet Professional", always on the job, always teaching, coaching and mentoring, and always giving our best to further our cause. The Warrant Officer cohort marks 95 years of an honorable tradition in the military, and I am grateful to have served with you and continue to serve with some of the best professionals in the world.
