ColdWarRules Posted July 5, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 5, 2013 I see the tank being more of close artillery support on treads rather than being a primary offensive tool.

D.A.T. Posted July 6, 2013 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2013 Sad but true, I guess the glory days of the tank are over. But maybe it can still be saved with a little bit of ingenuity.

Big Al Posted July 10, 2013 Share #8 Posted July 10, 2013 On the subject of unmanned remote-controlled tanks, if it does not have a wire, it can be hacked and turned against you.
B229 Posted July 11, 2013 Share #9 Posted July 11, 2013 I see the tank being more of close artillery support on treads rather than being a primary offensive tool. And what then would be the primary offensive tool? The death of the tank has been predicted for decades, going all the way back to the end of WWI. After WWII nuclear weapons and strategic bombing eliminated the need for tanks, then ATGM's made tanks obsolete in the 1970's, and now asymetric warfare has made the tank useless. Yeah right. Tanks aren't going anywhere. They are still a viable weapons system and will continue to be used and evolve like any other weapons system.
