The Shea Naval Aviation Museum on old NAS South Weymouth in Weymouth, MA is now open from 9 AM to noon on the second Saturday of the month and from 9 to 11 AM on the last Saturday of the month.

The museum is a repository of photographs and artifacts associated with Naval Air Station South Weymouth and its predecessor NAS Squantum (located in Quincy on the site of the present day Marina Bay). Members of the Association of Naval Aviation Patriot Squadron who were stationed at these bases and civilian historians who are familiar with local military history are always present at the museum when it is open to answer questions.

The Shea Naval Aviation Museum is located in the Shea Fitness Center (former USN gymnasium) at 495 Shea Memorial Drive on the SouthField real estate development (old N.A.S. South Weymouth) in Weymouth, MA. Admission is free. The museum seeks new members and donations of photos and artifacts. See http://www.anapatriotsquadron.org/ for more details.

Please note that the museum is seeking mannikins, mostly male but a few female too. Torsos might even be better than full-body manikins since we mainly need things to display uniform shirts, jackets, and caps. The museum is a 501c3 non-profit educational organization so all donations are fully tax deductible.
