There is a booklet out on Liberty Cuffs, not sure if anyone has seen it. I purchased a copy from the author at an ASMIC show about 3 years ago.

I am a member of ASMIC.Do remember the seller or know where I could buy one of his books? You can PM me.Thank you.

I see that the book is available on eBay Liberty Cuffs or if that link is out of date just search: Liberty Cuffs Book

Here is a display that I put up a couple of years ago. The Navy jumper on the left is a highly tailored "homecoming" example with a zippered side and liberty cuffs. It also has a "ruptured duck" discharge patch machine sewn on the breast. The liberty cuffs add a bit of flash to the outfit for the folks at home.

What's the vintage on that? It looks pretty high quality to say the least!

Anyone still collecting liberty cuffs?

If so, I'll start posting photos from my book.

Many, many reproductions today.

I will post photos of original/reproduction copies in the near future.

I notice about half are pre-1948 and half post-1948. Very nice. What is the one on the far right?

Vintage original liberty cuffs and current reproductions shown below.

The earliest, generally 1930s, liberty cuffs were hand sewn on silk. Later hand sewn, then machine sewn, on Rayon. Finally, machine sewn on cotton and other, cheaper, materials.

The heyday of liberty cuffs was from late-1940s until the uniform change of 1972 (1975 with "wear out period.")

While LCs are still unauthorized, sailors are once again looking into and adopting liberty cuffs. I get inquiries and I notice repros selling fairly regularly. I have a very fancy pair of dragons on very fancy silk for sale on eBay. Vintage, original design, but produced about 12 years ago by long time, and well known, Hong Kong tailor, Tony Wong.

I didn't originally did see this "page" as it was started back in 2013. I tried to get one going back in 06/2021 and it didn't get any traction. So here is my "re-post" and contribution. I think they are cool and unique as well. I work with a Naval Academy grad (late 80's , same commissioning time as me) and he didn't have a clue they did this. I found this jumper in an antique mall in Medford, OR

Hi Dan. I am still collecting liberty cuffs and have about 120 different pairs( including variations). They seem to be more and more difficult to find but still fun to collect.
