Teamski Posted June 18, 2013 Share #4 Posted June 18, 2013 The patch is as marked on the back. You are looking at the late 1950's/ early 1960's. -Ski
WorldWarPatches Posted June 18, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 18, 2013 It's a 3rd DIV HQ KW era patch. Came from one of the best collections in the US in Middleburg FL.
Teamski Posted June 18, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 18, 2013 In addition, it was a pocket patch worn during the Pentomic era, thus the pentagon. -Ski

To be more specific, it is POST Korean War era. The Pentomic "era" would be 1957 to 1963.
chcole1 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted June 18, 2013 I wondered what the pentagram stood for. At first I thought it was because the 3rd ID was part of the 5th Corps in the late 50s, but it's not exactly like the 5th Corps insignia.
