patches Posted September 23, 2013 Share #632 Posted September 23, 2013 See I found another one This is a screen capture of a rather obsure one, a movie, T.V. movie I watched a few times on when I was in Alaska, it was shown on HBO, we had HBO in the barracks starting around the winter of 1982, you had to of course pay to have it, the guys in the room next to me had it, but I didn't, but I swear, through out the whole time till I got out in Dec 82 I got HBO for free by mirly pluging my small T.V into a certain outlet, the outlet on the other side of their wall in the next room, and Voila, HBO came on, an incredible fluke, I never could explain why it happened, it was the damndest thing. So what T.V. movie is this from?

patches Posted September 23, 2013 Share #636 Posted September 23, 2013 Edward Herrman in "The Private History of a Campaign That Failed" (1981) Bingo, I didn't think anyone would get that one for awhile, not after I gave a few clues that is. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081377/ The full scene with Hermann. I actully got The Private History of a Campaign That Failed on VHS, It apparently is not available on DVD, that and the companion movie, which ran on HBO at the same time, back to back in the fall of 1982, Twain's or based on Twain, The Mysterious Stranger, again only on VHS. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084374/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

David D Posted January 16, 2015 Share #638 Posted January 16, 2015 By George your right! 2711-3.jpg I seem to recall that Rabinoff was based on a real life FSSF man, a nut job, he was KIA in the South of France IIRC not Anzio, does anybody recall this info? Did anyone ever recall this info? I would be very interested in the story. -Dave
patches Posted January 16, 2015 Share #639 Posted January 16, 2015 Did anyone ever recall this info? patches Posted January 20, 2015 Share #642 Posted January 20, 2015 Never seen this one, whatever it is, we gather it's about the 1941 invasion of the PI, and those are horse troopers of the 26th Cav, kinda wartime look with the marked up M4 to look Japanese

bootsandbooks Posted January 21, 2015 Share #644 Posted January 21, 2015 Once Before I Die (1966) I had remembered seeing that movie and that Richard Jaeckle was in it but never the name. Somehow I thought Bo Derek was the female lead, but was Ursula Andress instead , however John Derek was also in the cast. They were all playing polo when the Japanese attacked.
