ww2relichunter Posted June 13, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 13, 2013 i saw these sell on ebay the other day an i think they where over shadowed by the, great original grouping going on !! Me and Mark (the guy who purchased the nice original set of wings) had a chat about these they are very interesting and i believe they are very fishy !! we both seem to think they are high quality reproductions but what do you guys think on these Thanks in advance for your opinion !! rustywings Posted June 13, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 13, 2013 In my opinion, they're a complete fantasy piece and not worthy of your time if you're a collector of authentic aviation badges. The graduates of Class 43-W-7 received wings made from cut-down Juarez-style pilot wings. If you have a copy of Jon Maguire's book 'More Silver Wings, Pinks & Greens', take a look at pages #350 and #351 for examples of the type of wings used for each of the first eight WASP classes. Please note the maker of this fantasy piece omitted the dot or period beneath the "th" on the upper scroll. Russ

JDK Posted June 13, 2013 Share #4 Posted June 13, 2013 Real class wings should sell for 2k plus if they are attributed. $160 is a small lesson compared to other fake pieces that have been sold. JD
Jack's Son Posted June 13, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 13, 2013 These are definitely NOT the real thing! We have examples of real ones on the form.

WPAFB Posted June 14, 2013 Share #7 Posted June 14, 2013 I believe this wing was made by http://www.historicreproductions.com/ His shields and wing combinations are not correct.
