338thRCT Posted May 29, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2013 Found this at an antique store today. Shows 23rd Co. 5th Regt WAAC at Daytona Beach,FL Mar 1943. Too bad the picture was taken looking into the sun..lots of squinting and closed eyes, but still a good one with all the Hobby caps etc. Had to scan in many pieces in order to show it all. First picture is from the left side etc.

cutiger83 Posted May 30, 2013 Share #9 Posted May 30, 2013 Great picture! I also love seeing all of the Hobby hats. The best thing is the last name on the list: Kit Carson. I wonder if she is an ancestor... ....Kat
RustyCanteen Posted May 30, 2013 Share #10 Posted May 30, 2013 That's cool! I don't recall seeing one before, and certainly not one with so many names on the back!

Sarge8 Posted June 2, 2013 Share #12 Posted June 2, 2013 Great photo, especially with all the names. Lots of hours of research time on Ancestry for the cold weather months! Frank
338thRCT Posted June 2, 2013 Author Share #13 Posted June 2, 2013 Took your advice and looked up a few random names. Most show and enlistment date of Feb. 1943, so this may have been a basic training outfit? Also, many state their status as Aviation Cadets, though not all that I looked at. I am clueless as to that aspect.
