Steindaddie Posted May 29, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2013 Picked this up today and have no idea of the date, but the story goes that the uniform was from a distant relative of the donor who was a WW1 nurse. Some details: There are two long-sleeve ankle-length gowns and they button on the back from top to bottom. One gown is a light linen with a sewn on Red Cross patch, the other gown is a heavier cotton and no patch. Three aprons with the owners initials embroidered "NSV". I figure they are from the owner because I found a name tag that reads "N. Vollmer" Also two sashes that button around the waist. There is also a head covering not pictured - a large cloth with a red cross. Any thoughts? ~Will
Steindaddie Posted May 29, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted May 29, 2013 My wife plays dress-up. The gown goes to her ankles (and she is 5'10)

Terry K. Posted May 29, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2013 That's a very nice set! I would say teens or early twenties because of the collar, I think they went to the open collar about the mid twenties like the Army did. Terry
Steindaddie Posted May 30, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted May 30, 2013 Thanks for that info. Am I to assume the uniform is in fact Red Cross?
