smwinter207 Posted May 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2013 I just grabbed these off ebay. Would you expect any patches from the Korean era to glow? The blue stripes seem a little luminescent. Thanks, Sean
Rakkasan187 Posted May 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2013 Sean Nothing wrong with those stripes. Nice pair of combatant stripes. They could have been removed from a uniform that was washed in detergent making them glow a little. I see nothing wrong with them though. These are nice to collect, both combatant (Yellow background, blue stripe) and non combatant (Blue background, yellow stripe) stripes are still fairly easy to find and affordable. Teamski Posted May 24, 2013 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2013 They are perfectly fine. This is why a black light should always be backed up by a second opinion. Those stripes were worn 1948-1952. -Ski
Garth Thompson Posted May 24, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 24, 2013 The only kind of thread that the blacklight test has any validity is white. Colored threads may have a luminescence due to the dyes. Garth
