o6ret Posted May 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 21, 2013 I am hoping that someone on this forum can ID this maker's mark. Thanks.

o6ret Posted May 22, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted May 22, 2013 Yes...I am referring to the concentric circles. Has anybody seen this before?
patches Posted May 22, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2013 There was one earlier topic with a identical or similar design on the back of a rank badge, but from what I remember no one knew what company it was. I don't know, I wish I did though. Maybe someone might look in and be able to ID it.
hirsca Posted May 22, 2013 Share #5 Posted May 22, 2013 I recently found this in a grouping of insignia/BOS at the estate sale of a WW2 Dental Officer who serve with the 69th ID in the ETO. Concentric circles and marked acid test. Possibly by Amcraft? All of the other insignia/BOS were snowflake acid test. Thanks, Al.
o6ret Posted January 26, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks, Al, good catch. I think you might be right...I'm going to follow up on the AMCRAFT idea.
patches Posted January 26, 2014 Share #7 Posted January 26, 2014 These designs on these badges have a Celtic Concentric Circle quality to them do they not.
Grant S. Posted January 27, 2014 Share #8 Posted January 27, 2014 And AMCRAFT is in Attleboro, which is not too far from Boston, the home of the Celtics... (Note: this is a joke. I am not seriously suggesting any relationship.)

Or maybe not, a lot of Irish up that away back then, as a thought, maybe the designer was Irish, and took his inspiration from these circles when thinking of a design pattern for the rears of AMCRAFT badges, just a thought of course
