You might want to check out these issues of the French Militaria Magazines which had excellent articles on the OD Field Jackets and Mackinaw... I contributed to all articles and several of my uniforms were featured in the magazines...

Interesting that there are 4 issues dealing with the O.D. Field Jacket, and only 1 on the Mackinaws. I'd like to check those out; thanks for the link.

Here is my Mackinaw coat. I always thought it was USMC issue for sure because

of the camo liner inside it?

I believe this to be a M38 Mackinaw. It has a brown blanket wool collar and lining. In person it is dark OD green (more like the referred "forest green" color, not like the other khaki-looking color. Any thoughts anyone?
