hhbooker2 Posted March 27, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2008 "GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Don't you just love it when you are in a Goodwill Industries, Saint Vincent de Paul, or Salvation Army thrift stores looking at their selection of used books like their encylopaedias and you turn a page and see those wonderful drawings, sometimes in colour, of U.S.Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Navy ranks and rates? Well, I do! Often there are errors in the descriptions and titles or they might show a rank or branch insignia upside down or obsolete for the time period even? I really like the pre-1917 pictures in books showing them, these are really, really hard-to-find, ain't they? Anyway, am starting with a Second World War page in colour. The pictures of rates and ranks are even as interesting when printed in a foreign nation, often showing older insignia in their own unique way of illustrating them too! ENJOY!
