1930's-early WWII Command Pilot wing question.

I'm restoring the uniform of an Air Corps Officer who retired in 1942. At the time of his retirement he was rated as a Command Pilot and I would like to find an appropriate wing to replace the one which is missing from his coat.

I would be grateful for any advice on what patterns or makers I should be looking for in a Command Pilot wing correct for the 1939-41 period.

Thanks in advance!.

Matt.

This is an early AMCRAFT wing that likely dates from around that time. I have seen this particular pattern frequently being worn in period photographs. AECo, LBG, Blackinton, NS Meyer, and Orber patterns (the earlier Adams design, not the pelican beak pattern) were all probably worn early in the war to name a few others.

Many thanks indeed for your reply. An Amcraft like yours would be ideal,as the rest of the insignia, which I believe is original to the coat is all Amcraft "snowflake".

Now it's just the small matter of finding one!.

Regards,

Matt.
