Mashsig Posted September 20, 2021 Share #56 Posted September 20, 2021 I am working on a special edition of my Survival Kits and Gear Magazine (kind like Marshall Cavendish did for their World War II serial magazine back in the 1970s) and sadly due to a series of events - I sold my C-1 Vests and lost most of my photos. I am trying to find out what type of base plate the stud had for the metal prong ring snap studs used on the pockets. I found the "metal prong, snap fasteners w Press Stud poppers" (photo attached) made by Smiths Beads company in the UK. These seem to be very close to the original. So my question is: was the stud fastened to the pocket (of the C-1 Vest) by a prong ring like the female receptacle on the pocket flap? Thanks in advance. dustin Posted September 21, 2021 Share #57 Posted September 21, 2021 Find an answer to your question yet? The male stud is attached on pocket with ring bottom right in your image.
Mashsig Posted September 23, 2021 Share #58 Posted September 23, 2021 Dustin, Thank You! I sold all of my C-1 Vests and of course no one takes a photo of the inside of the pockets on eBay.

Mashsig Posted September 25, 2021 Share #60 Posted September 25, 2021 dmar836 - Thank You for the offer. I appreciate it. What I need is the diameter of the large Bakelite buttons on the front and the smaller ones used to secure the slant pockets on the 1st and 2nd patterns. My measurements must have been on the flash drive that was destroyed with my vest photos. Thanks in advance.

Mashsig Posted September 26, 2021 Share #62 Posted September 26, 2021 I Hate Moths, Thank You for your response. And for posting the photos. I have the measurements of the snap buttons. What I am not certain of is the diameter of the 3 large Bakelite buttons on the front of the vest. I will attach a closeup of what I think these buttons look like - I can not tell from the first photo in your post if your vest has the WWII Bakelite buttons or not.
