Here is a photo showing Sgt. James P. Connor of the 7th Infantry Regiment 3rd Infantry Division after being awarded the Medal of Honor. Does anyone know what the patch is on the pocket of his field jacket?

I believe that is one of the "Battle Patrol" pocket patches. There have been some great articles on some of these in the ASMIC "Trading Post" in the past few years.

All three regiments, the 7th, 15th and 30th - had battle patrols, as did the 3rd Recon Company. The one in the post is for the 7th Inf Regt, not the "3rd Div".

So does anyone have examples of the other battle patrol patches? If the one pictured above is for the 7th regiment, what do the 15th and 30th battle patrol patches look like?

Thanks!

There is an 106th Battle Patrol with the DI and a close up better pic of the 7th BP.  Now how do you compare these to a 7th Major Port as to desirability , cache' and rarity.

Besides those of mine and Daves in the hands of collectors have any others ever been shown?  Do not think so. Guess what, you even have a hard time finding a clear picture of one. When are they ever on sale? Just saying.
