mvmhm Posted May 7, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted May 7, 2013 Forgot to mention the markings on the handle of the potato masher are nice and clear too...these two shells are about 8 inches tall.....and the base markings....the 1916 dated bottom is the shell on the left side...... mvmhm Posted May 7, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted May 7, 2013 I thought maybe someone had chromed this shell...but the fuse (which is about 8 inches long) is also chromed....I found the attached chart, and the lower right shell seems to be the same thing, so maybe this is a poison gas shell????? mvmhm Posted May 7, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted May 7, 2013 While I was looking at the American Mark I grenade, he casually says "I've got a potato masher laying around here somewhere...do you want it?"....I couldn't say "YES" fast enough...there's a couple dozen boxes that haven't been opened in more than a decade, so who knows what's still in there.... mvmhm Posted May 7, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted May 7, 2013 Oh, I know...I was happy to turn it over and see the belt clip was still there too....I've had some really nice WWII ones (including a mint one that turn out to be live)...but the only nice ones of these I've seen have been at the USMC museum and the Imperial War Museum...look at the other grouping too, the American grenade is just as nice...
