BEAST Posted March 30, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted March 30, 2008 Great photos guys! Keep 'em coming! Erwin, I think that photo showing the rows of ambulances was taken in my hometwon of Fort Wayne, Indiana. It reminds me of one that I saw taken at a depot there. Mike_L, thanks for the vehicle ID! Gregory, that schwimmwagen ambulance is awesome! Do you have the original to that? Here is another 1970's era ambulance. We used these for transport when I was in JrROTC, I believe this was taken at Fort Knox, KY. Note the WWII era barracks in the background.

BEAST Posted March 30, 2008 Author Share #13 Posted March 30, 2008 Dodge. And of course there is a tank in the back ground. Interesting how they covered the red cross on the vehicle. Didn't they know that the Geneva Convention protected them from being shot?

Gregory Posted April 4, 2008 Share #17 Posted April 4, 2008 Two US Navy WWII era ambulances althought not necessarily in "Vehicle" category, rather "Air Vehicle". They are very interested because officially neither Boeing Stearman Kaydet nor Piper NE-1 Grasshopper were manufactired in casevac variants. USN re-built them in its own workshops and I would not be so sure if they were certified according to aviation law but wartime is not good time for various law aspects
