A little tip that I recently picked up: Cut-edge or Flat-edge patches are WWII-Era, and the Rounded or Merrow-Edge are around Vietnam Era-Present Day. Also the Merrow-Edge come with "tail" taped to back, but not always taped. Post 10 is Ex of a Merrow-Edge Post 5 Armored Patch is example of WWII Cut-Edge.
