One more Air Apache group to finish out the month.

This A-2 jacket and accompanying paperwork came from a lead B-25 pilot with the 345th Air Apaches "Bats outta Hell" squadron. He flew half a combat tour before being injured by flak on a low level strafing mission Nov. of '44. He managed to get the plane back to base and recover from his wounds.

AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Patch and art both on the same jacket and provenance to go with it, don't get much better than that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW , the Squadron patch is the 498th "Bats Outta Hell" .

I once cut a stencil of this design (still have it somewhere) and applied it my friend's WW2 White Scout Car...looked good on there, even if I say so myself! ;)
