on-to-berlin Posted April 20, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2013 I picked up a nice German Camo jacket from the late 50s on a local fleamarket. Although I normaly only collect US I thought it is cool. I saw a picture of an US Officer somewhere once but cannot remember where. Wondering if there are more pictures of US forces wearing this kind of camo. The jacket came with a set of gloves and a helmet cover. Haven´t seen a helmet cover before. patches Posted April 20, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 20, 2013 Are you sure it was this type of Camouflage, German Spinter types and not one of the South Vietnamese/French types?
Ewart Posted April 20, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 20, 2013 I'd have to go with Patches too. There is a set of the US Forces wearing the French lizard pattern, in I believe West Germany.
kammo-man Posted April 21, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 21, 2013 This is Bund splinter pattern form the late 50s and its very possible it was used by US special s forces during exercise. I have no problem with this all and have heard first hand accounts of foreign Cammo being used as a f u badge to cheese of the brass Owen

sgtdorango Posted April 26, 2013 Share #10 Posted April 26, 2013 Thats an amazing photo, makes sense too, with all the US occupying forces in Germany at the time, also the 187th used this German camo for makeshift helmet covers around 1958 when they were rapidly sent from being stationed in Germany to the Lebanon Crisis...heres a few pics of them in use......mike
