ludwigh1980 Posted April 17, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 17, 2013 I got a call on my ad for militaria afew days ago and this along with two flight suits, two G-suits and 2 sets of hanesses in a trunk came into the office. The top pad had come loose and melted all over everything and I just about got it all cleaned off. The helmet cleaned up nice. I am completely ignorant of post WW2 aviation gear however since I have nearly a complete pilot (everything was navy) I might buy a manniquin to put this stuff on. The helmet has me perplexed as it has orange Kangaroo's on it signifing a Austrialian connection however everything else was tagged VT-21 (Training Squadron). The people who brought it in said it had belong to a uncle that had died young. He was from Northern Colorado. Any thoughts, Thanks, Terry in Colorado

northcoastaero Posted April 17, 2013 Share #5 Posted April 17, 2013 The APH-6C flight helmet has a contract date of 1971. The MS-22001 (A-13A) oxygen mask is missing the lower high pressure oxygen hose that would attach to the bottom of the Robertshaw Type 1 miniregulator. VT-21 may have trained Australian pilots in the TA-4F and/or TA-4J Skyhawk aircraft? The Royal Australian Navy operated variants of the Skyhawk. Do you have any photos of the anti-g suits and harnesses?
