lax_master22 Posted January 6, 2015 #101 Posted January 6, 2015 I've never been a big medal collector, but recently I've been getting interested in them. Over the years I've managed to accumulate a handful of mounted groups, this one is the first mounted group I ever got and that was about 10 years ago
lax_master22 Posted January 6, 2015 #106 Posted January 6, 2015 As of now this is my favourite mounted group
Adam R Posted January 6, 2015 #108 Posted January 6, 2015 A group to a three war USN officer. The middle rack represents his awards as of the mid 1950s (with a photo of him wearing them). The DFCs and AMs were all for Korea. The top and bottom racks are his awards from Vietnam. All together they're definitely NOT in the correct order of precedence but apparently this didn't matter to him.
firefighter Posted January 6, 2015 #109 Posted January 6, 2015 I certainly wouldn't tell him they are out of order.Nice racks. I also like the named Coasty group.

Woodymyster Posted January 14, 2015 #120 Posted January 14, 2015 Here is a miniature group to a 33yr career pilot and a pic of him near the end of his career.
PaulR Posted January 17, 2015 #121 Posted January 17, 2015 Sal, when I go, you must will that bar to me. It is a beauty. My only US focus pertains to the Coast Guard. Here is a nice two war two service group. The Navy CGM and dog tag is named.
PaulR Posted January 17, 2015 #122 Posted January 17, 2015 Here is another two service Coast Guard bar, Vietnam era.
PaulR Posted January 17, 2015 #123 Posted January 17, 2015 Here is a very nice named miniature bar to Captain Samuel Good. He was in during WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Notice the first pattern Coast Guard Commendation Medal.
PaulR Posted January 17, 2015 #124 Posted January 17, 2015 Yet another WW2/Korean War era group to a Naval and Coast Guard veteran.
PaulR Posted January 17, 2015 #125 Posted January 17, 2015 An unnamed post Vietnam/Pre Desert Storm miniature set.
