AirMechanic Posted April 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2013 I was found these wings in an ebay auction but decided to pass as I didn't know what they were. There is a crest that is attached to the shield on the front. After doing some searching on the internet, I believe that crest is the coat of arms of Haiti. The wings are clutchback and appear to be full size. The seller indicated that they are sterling. The photo of the back isn't very good and I wasn't able to see any markings. The crest looks pretty well made. Any thoughts on why the coat of arms was added? Does it signify anything?
rathbonemuseum.com Posted April 10, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 10, 2013 Yes, they are early Haitian Air Force wings. I have a set like this. The crest was cut out from a Hatian coin and then applied. Later Hatian wings were made in the US by Russel and Meyer.
