This thread is for all the links to websites pertaining to P.O.W's, if you have any to add then please feel free to post them.

A couple of the "basic" starting points for research:

WWII:

"World War II Prisoners of the Japanese" - From NARA AAD, this is a searchable index of US prisoners of war held by Japan during WWII: http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-description.jsp?s=4277&cat=WR26&bc=,sl&col=1215

"World War II Prisoners of War Data File" - Another one from the NARA AAD: http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-description.jsp?s=644&cat=WR26&bc=,sl

Korean War:

"Korean War Data File of American Prisoners of War" - From NARA AAD: http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-description.jsp?s=488&cat=WR27&bc=,sl

"Repatriated Korean Conflict Prisoners of War" - From NARA AAD: http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-description.jsp?s=574&cat=WR27&bc=,sl

Vietnam War:

"Combat Area Casualties Returned Alive File" - From NARA AAD: http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-description.jsp?s=512&cat=WR28&bc=,sl

Here is one that I just started explore: http://memoiredeguerre.pagesperso-orange.fr/convoi44/list-hopital.htm

It is all in French, so I am depending heavily on Google translate. Here is the title:

The last convoy of Rennes said "train de Langeais"

List of prisoners of war parties Rennes early August 1944

I hope our French speaking members will take a look and provide a proper translation, but I believe the purpose of the site is to document the story of these trains that transported POWs that were not marked and were strafed by Allied aircraft.

What is interesting is that it lists the wounds received by the POWs. I found a paratrooper that I am researching and found he was wounded in both shoulders. Funny thing is that I interviewed him in the 1980s and he never mentioned being wounded!
