Restoring WWII M6A1 bazooka training rocket

Hey all,

I aquired an M6A1 training rocket last year, it looked great on the shelf but had less than 10% of the original paint left and began to rust. So rather than risk losing it to decay I decided to restore it. Ive had it sand blasted, and an ugly green primer coat applied to at least have something other than bare metal.

Anyway, I understand that the proper paint job would be black, with the letter designations on it.

What I need to know is, what information is usually stenciled onto a training rocket? before the original paint came off I could barely make out M6A1, ROCKET, HE. AT. and I couldnt make out the Lot number information.

none of the research i have done has helped me much in terms of the exact markings that it would need.

can anyone provide this information?

also would love any tips for painting it, a good type of paint to use and any sort of clear coat (if

any at all) I should use.

If anyone would like some pictures of it I would gladly post some links.

Thanks!
