Third Herd Posted April 1, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2013 It is called a buz number, the F is for fighter and the S is for F-84 and the three numbers are the last rhee of the serial number.. You should be able to find a list of the letters used in the buzz numbers on line. They were large enough for a buzzing plane to have them read and the pilot get into trouble.
