This is a very rare fallschirm Prüfschein pass book.

 

These passes were put with the parachutes and showed that the parachutes were proved and tested and found good. Then the validation period was filled in on these oil cloth passes and they were stamped. This one would have been placed in a parachute in an airplane

Nice log book.Only seen one other and it was/is still with the original chute.

And so...was this brought back by a US soldier?

To Dave/ moderator Yes, it was brought back by a us soldier I got it as part of a larger group of things- it was mixed in a scrapbook that contained letters, photos, and other assorted ephemera etc-

 

To Doyler- thanks - it took a while to find out what it was- I have found exactly that same thing that apparently these can be difficult to come by

Neat piece. I sold one a few months ago on the Wehrmacht forum. When doing research I think I only found one other for sale.
