hawkdriver Posted March 18, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2013 Interesting, leggings but the pants outside and rolled up.
Sabrejet Posted March 18, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted March 18, 2013 Interesting, leggings but the pants outside and rolled up. Just like they used to wear them in the PTO in WW2...but this is Korea!! Evidently the Corps were still issuing leggings long after the Army had declared them obsolete. Note also the name clearly written on his camo cover.
USMCR79 Posted May 17, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 17, 2013 Just like they used to wear them in the PTO in WW2...but this is Korea!! Evidently the Corps were still issuing leggings long after the Army had declared them obsolete. Note also the name clearly written on his camo cover. “Do not attack the First Marine Division. Leave the yellowlegs alone. Strike the American Army.” Orders given to Communist troops in the Korean War; shortly afterward, the Marines were ordered to not wear their khaki leggings. History Man Posted May 17, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 17, 2013 Very nice photo, I always keep an eye out for USMC photographs. Philip JS, here is a copy of what Bill wrote: “Do not attack the First Marine Division. Leave the yellowlegs alone. Strike the American Army.” Orders given to Communist troops in the Korean War; shortly afterward, the Marines were ordered to not wear their khaki leggings.
