TRR Posted March 14, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 14, 2013 Or any Vietnam War identity cards or paperwork. If someone wanted to send a clean high resolution scan of an ID, I could probably work on producing something. It would need to be as high resolution as you could get. PM me. Indexred Posted March 14, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2013 Nice website ... I've passed it on to a few friends. I may have high res scans of some WWII doc's not on the site. I'll dig through my files.

cco23i Posted March 23, 2013 Share #8 Posted March 23, 2013 Does anyone have a good copy (or scan) of an AAF form 121, personal issue? I'd like to have these for issuing out equipment at bomber camp this year. THANKS! Scott
suwanneetrader Posted March 23, 2013 Share #9 Posted March 23, 2013 I remember re-enacting during the early 1960's "CW" some of the Rebel guys had Blacksmiths (yes some with an old bellows forge were still around then) handmake them big side knives. 40 years later I have seen some being sold as "Real" Confederate Civil War knives. Will this WWII Re-enactors paperwork follow the same route or are there tell tale signs for the new bring back, issued, etc. forms? I'm just wondering. willysmb44 Posted March 25, 2013 Share #11 Posted March 25, 2013 I wonder how much use re-enactor paperwork really is. There's hardly any use for it in tactical re-enacting, and how good a display item is something mostly likely typed up in non-period typefaces and printed on a bubblejet on modern paper? I've made repro printed stuff for people over the years, but only things nobody else makes but usually useful or joke items. I've seen so many people print out paperwork stuff like this for many years and it often never gets used at all...
cco23i Posted March 26, 2013 Share #12 Posted March 26, 2013 Oh I know we use a boatload of period correct forms, we want the students to be IN 1944. Scott
willysmb44 Posted March 26, 2013 Share #13 Posted March 26, 2013 Oh I know we use a boatload of period correct forms, we want the students to be IN 1944.Yes, but that's for a specific event, your Bomber Camp. How many other events do anything like this? Not many. I've bene in the hobby since the late 80s and I can only think of maybe two events in all that time where any paperwork ever got used (and I don't mean registration cards for large events, I mean re-creations of period paperwork).I'm not saying there's no use for it, but I think an inordinate amount of time, effort and money goes into paperwork that will likely never get any use when the same people won't change the obvious things. I know a guy who's nuts on paperwork but never uses it, yet wears modern glasses to every event. I've pointed it out to him several times but he doesn't get that he's focusing on something he's never used and ingoring an obvious thing he uses at every event...
