207th Coast Artillery Colonel's bringbacks

I received this grouping from the granddaughter of Colonel Joseph W. Morgan, who served with the New York 107th Infantry Regiment (originally the 7th Regiment), which was redesignated the 207th Coast Artillery Regiment in 1940. The unit went on to take part in the Normandy landings. Some items had already been sent to the Nat'l WWII Museum in New orleans, which included some items from Dachau, and "two fezes"...which might have been SS Fezes. Here's Colonel Morgan as a young Lt.:

..and a gas mask bag, with a filter and inside is the anti-dim canister. There was also a more modern gasmask hood (M17 series), which is kind of unique in that it has a zipper up the front...not sure I'd like to depend on that to block NBC!

...and two pairs of leggings, which are undated, but with different markings:

...There's also a Luftschutz gladiator helmet...the liner is there but dry, and it has some minor dingers in the back but overall pretty nice....the Volksgasmask on the other hand has some severe heat damage to it....

Finally, a pennant roughly three feet in length...the top edge was made for a small pole, but it looks like the fabric was torn down the seam.....there's also a Party armband with the RZM label intact, two unissued Partei-Bereitschaft armbands, and an unissued Volksturm armband. The Hitler Youth buckle is in good shape, and is maker marked RZM/42 on the reverse. The family has some other pictures and information they'll be sending later...

The WWII Museum got two fezes, a comb taken from Dachau, a spoon with some sort of swastika..some Hitler postcards, a headset (?), a regimental history and some sort of paper about the liberation of concentration camps. I'm not sure if she took pictures of those items before she sent them down there or not....

The M-17 is just the cover that goes over the actual mask. It was part of the total NBC (MOPP) suit.
