Pictured is a linked belt of 100 .50 caliber practice rounds I bought from a Chicago area surplus dealer in the mid 1970's. They are copper (clad?) projectiles in anodized steel cases. Three holes drilled through cases, unfinished primer pockets, head stamped F A 4. The entire belt is over 9 feet long! The ammo can did not originally come with the rounds. I had it laying around and put them in there after I dismantled my "arsenal room". They have been sitting in my garage for the last 15 years and I have not really thought about them until the subject was brought up in this discussion. Great memory jogger this forum is! If there is any interest in more detailed pix of head stamps, cartridge links, cases, etc. I will post them.
