A common mistake made by collectors is to assume the M1 Carbine ammo came in bandoleers during WW2. This was not the case. It wasn't until the Korea War that they loaded M1 Carbine rounds on stripper clips and packed in bandoleers. And this was only because of the adoption of the select fire M2 Carbine with it's 30 round magazines.
