The Lemming Posted March 5, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 5, 2013 I just spent the good part of 2 days cleaning vertigris off holsters, webgear, cartridge belts etc. After all that work I was putting it all away and thought about the storage bags my wife puts her extra linens and some seasonal clothing in. They are the ones that have a valve you hook your vacuum cleaner to and suck all the air out. I am wondering if this would retard the regeneration of the the "green crud". Any thoughts? TIA- Mike
1940Desoto Posted March 5, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 5, 2013 Use Rennaisance Wax mate...there is no better way to prevent verdegris. Here is a thread for reference http://www.usmilitar...e-wax-question/ Cheers Sean
skautdog Posted March 5, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 5, 2013 Yep, Rennaisance Wax is the best I've found for cleaning off the verdigris and slowing its return. Unfortunately, even coated in Ren Wax and stored in ideal temperature and humidity, it will return. Spotting verdigirs early and cleaning it is about the best one can do.
