DHolly Posted March 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2013 If this topic has been mentioned before I apologize. On February 10, 2013 we had an EF-4 tornado hit Hattiesburg, MS. Damage was extensive but providentially no lives were lost. One of the casualties was the African American Military History Museum. During the tornado the building suffered severe roof damage and damage to a large part of the contents. This museum is in the only surviving African American USO club in the U.S. The building was restored and opened as a museum in 2009. I was fortunate enough to get to visit it in 2011. I was very impressed with the facility and the exhibits. If you would be interested in helping to rebuild the museum here's how: How To Help: To contribute to the Museum's Rise Up And Rebuild Campaign: Text: Rebuild USO to 72727 Go online to: www.hattiesburguso.com/Rebuild All donations are tax deductible. Thanks for considering this worthwhile project. Dave
