I was wondering if any of you had any nice mess-dress uniforms. Here are a few of mine (not very rare) but I like them.

What is the badge on the bottom right? USAF HQ?

Here are mine. Still need to acquire a black cummerbund to complete either a winter black or a summer white mess dress.

Here's the Air Corps Blue Mess uniform of Major John R.Drumm. It is dated October 1939 and was tailored by A.Jacobs & Sons of Baltimore. I also have his blue dress cap and cape, but at present lack a suitable means of displaying them. The shirt has been added for display.

My pleasure Matt. Beautiful mess uniform! Must be quite spectacular with the full cape and hat? Question: are the winged-props on the cuffs simply regular collar devices?

In an attempt to bring this thread back, here is the uniform of Major General Charles Gettys (1915-1982). He served in WWII and was Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Vietnam from 1970-1971. While in Vietnam, the helicopter transporting him crashed and his life (along with others) was saved by Colin Powell (the action in which Colin Powell received his soldiers medal). From 1971-1973 he was Commanding General, U.S. Army, Alaska.
