It is dated October 1939 and was tailored by A.Jacobs & Sons of Baltimore. I also have his blue dress cap and cape,but at present lack a suitable means of displaying them. uniformcollector Posted May 3, 2014 Author Share #23 Posted May 3, 2014 In an attempt to bring this thread back, here is the uniform of Major General Charles Gettys (1915-1982). He served in WWII and was Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Vietnam from 1970-1971. While in Vietnam, the helicopter transporting him crashed and his life (along with others) was saved by Colin Powell (the action in which Colin Powell received his soldiers medal).
