History Man Posted February 17, 2013 #1 Posted February 17, 2013 Found this at a flea market this past week and was told that it came from a vet who served on a medical ship during the war. It is painted white but you can see the original blue showing through, the liner is coming loose in some places and shows use. Let me know what you think. Philip
History Man Posted February 18, 2013 Author #7 Posted February 18, 2013 Thank you, these helmets do have certain appeal to them and I have secretly been looking for one. Has anyone seen a white painted talker before or does anyone know if they were worn on medical ships? Philip
SergeantMajorGray Posted February 18, 2013 #8 Posted February 18, 2013 there is not much info about these out there but navy helmets were repainted a lot in general and im sure white paint was common on a hospital ship so it was probably just repainted cause it needed it. you can see my talker helmet a couple topics down I hope both of ours are put in the talker reference section.
