Scarecrow Posted February 11, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 11, 2013 Recently acquired two pair of these boots. As you can see from the photos they are marked as "Shoe Mukluk Heavy Type N-1A".. Someone told me that they thought these were a flight boot. I'm not sure if they are that or just a cold weather issue boot. I know that the blue issue gear was not around all that long before switching to sage green color, so I'm guessing 1950's issue. As I'm mainly a WWII USAAF collector any help appreciated from the Forum's more knowledgeable Jet Age collectors. Paul

Bebel Posted February 11, 2013 Share #3 Posted February 11, 2013 They were packaged in survival kit, I guess. Blue version are rarer. Franck
reddevil1311 Posted February 13, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2013 As with many other early USAF items, these were made in OD green, then blue, and finally in sage green in that order. A

Third Herd Posted February 14, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 14, 2013 They will keep your toes nice and warm, had a pair when I was in Korea to wear when I went to mountain top sites. They were sage green in 1970.
