I'm referring to where the chevrons terminate at the ends... I see most like the below Sergeant chevron where it actually will meet the seam of the sleeve and then like your Corporal chevron below which is cut at a 90 degree angle. Besides that they look relatively the same except the Sergeant has more of a swoop whereas your Corporal is fairly rigid.

hard to tell if they are real; photos aren't great, which always adds suspicion

And here's a mid-war 1stSgt for the khaki service shirt...... In rough shape..... But rare. Not a matched pair; notice different construction quality and style. Also hard to find hashmarks.....

1917 pattern GySgt chevrons, for service dress. I am still skeptical of these, but others here gave these the thumbs up.

I just don't like the sloppy, floppy fabric at the bottom arc and I don't like the embroidery of the bursting bomb

Another tunic w/ WW2 era bandsman chevrons. from my memory, this one went cheap - $100 maybe. I rmember the chevrons were clearly worth more than the final price.

These are the 1930s variety, pre-WW2 Tech. Sgt. These are the 2-piece construction gold tape chevrons on scarlet backing. Much harder to find than the more common embroidered versions. sSgt variety come up for sale every blue moon, but not these. When they do, they're always still sewn-on and never loose.

This one went for $35...I missed out and thought the auction ended 5 minutes later than it did. Still a bit sore about that one, I could really use some chevrons like that. Great tunic.

I recently picked up this pair of Mess Sergeant chevrons I thought I would share. Unfortunately there was only a single of each but I was still happy to run across them.

I found them at a small gun show on the Gulf coast over the weekend-on Sunday on less. A dealer had a big bag of WW II USMC chevrons and service stripes, mostly Sergeant, Corporal, and Private stripes but these were mixed in. The show had been open all day the day before, Saturday, but I guess no one else had bothered to look through the bag.

Siamundo-beautiful chevrons! Congrats!! I love the gulf coast. Grew up in Gulfport. Too bad my family still lives there (or else I could move back!!)
