Chap15 Posted February 3, 2013 #1 Posted February 3, 2013 Today was Four Chaplains Sunday. Seventy Years ago today, four chaplains gave their life jackets to four men when their troop ship was struck by a German torpedo in the Atlantic Ocean. I displayed a WWII Chaplain’s kit from a Chaplain who... survived the battle of Okinawa. He was a WWI Infantry Soldier who promised God if he survived the war he would become a minister. He kept his promise only to find himself in another war. God calls us to love him and to love one another, even when it hurts.
pchepurko Posted February 3, 2013 #2 Posted February 3, 2013 These 4 men should never be forgotten. A man from my hometown was on the Dorchester.
hbtcoveralls Posted February 3, 2013 #3 Posted February 3, 2013 just read a book about the 4 chaplains, I'm not a religious man, but their sacrifice and example was truly inspiring. Tom Bowers
