X_redcatcher Posted February 3, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2013 This is a civil war overcoat, and shows the color that it should be.
NebrPatch Posted February 3, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted February 3, 2013 Thanks for the ID on the patch and I had a hunch the coat wasn't supposed to be green. The ad caught my eye because I have a similar patch in my collection, scans of the front (top) & back (bottom) are attached. The patch is about 2 inches across. Let me know what you think. X_redcatcher Posted February 4, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 4, 2013 nice badge, the only problem, the Knights of Templar also use a red cross like this, A lot of times you see those Knights badges being sold as 1st Div 5th Corps badges. The good news I have have not seen a Knights badge like this one before. Maybe someone else in here has or has not. Civil War Corps badges can be tricky the simple ones have been remade for Living History units, way back in the 60's and have 50 years age to them now.
