Bearmon Posted January 28, 2013 #1 Posted January 28, 2013 I was happy to add this one to my collection.
Bearmon Posted January 28, 2013 Author #2 Posted January 28, 2013 The reverse, looks like a nice Japanese made patch to me.
F 106 Pilot Posted January 28, 2013 #3 Posted January 28, 2013 Great patch I always have a soft spot for the USS Pueblo items. Ben
468abnarm Posted January 28, 2013 #4 Posted January 28, 2013 Many years ago the "rumor mill" said that the song "Ride Captain Ride" by the Blues Image was about the USS Pueblo. Did anyone else ever hear that ?
firefighter Posted January 28, 2013 #5 Posted January 28, 2013 The song was inspired by the number of keys on Pinera's Rhodes piano. Pinera said, "Okay, I need a first word." And what came into my head was 73. I liked the rhythm, and I went, "73 men sailed up, from the San Francisco Bay." ... The song sort of just wrote itself from there." GOOGLE
irish Posted January 28, 2013 #6 Posted January 28, 2013 Nice patch and scarce. Here are a couple of Pueblo related pieces of mine. The larger patch is a rememberance type jacket/cruise patch. The Pueblo story is better known. However a little less know was the EC 121 Recon plane PR-21 that was shot down by the North Koreans on April 15,1969. The plane was from the USN Airborne Recon Squadron VQ-1. Great find on your part, congrats.
irish Posted January 29, 2013 #9 Posted January 29, 2013 Very nice Bob, I had never seen any of these.
