338thRCT Posted January 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2013 This is from a publication called The Thunderbird, which was published quarterly at MacDill Air Field in Tampa,FL. At the time it was part of the 3rd Air Force and provided refresher training for aircrews heading overseas. This photo is from the section on the nurses and the base hospital.. The nurse pictured penned the notation at the page bottom. Will add more from the nurse section later.

338thRCT Posted January 27, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted January 27, 2013 Here you go..some of .these were probably taken at the larger hospital facility which was located in St.Petersburg,FL. It was housed in the Don Cezar Hotel, which was and still is, a luxury hotel located right on the Gulf of Mexico beachfront. One had to take a ferry across Tampa Bay to get there. Pretty cushy duty station for sure!
