11thcavsniper Posted January 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2013 Here is a Hungarian m-48 Tokarev. It has all the capture papers. It's dated 1952 and was captured in 1972 at Da Nang.
MWalsh Posted January 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2013 Nice set! Over the years I have passed on two Vietnam bring backs - and have always regretted it. They just seldom seem to turn up. Just curious... What unit issued the capture papers, or rather, what level? Battalion or division level? Also, what was the rank of the person who brought the items back? Any chance you could post pics of the papers? MW

11thcavsniper Posted January 26, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted January 26, 2013 MW, The soldier was an E-5 with the HHD 37th Sig. Bn.. One paper was signed by the 204th MI Detachment and refers to it as Hungarian. The other 2 papers were signed by the Deputy Provost Marshal 5th MP Detachment and is referred to as CHICOM. sksnut Posted March 23, 2016 Share #6 Posted March 23, 2016 I also have a Hungarian Tokarev with all sorts of capture papers. These are the only Hungarians that I have heard of. I am sure that they are quite rare.
badash5946 Posted March 24, 2016 Share #7 Posted March 24, 2016 Several years ago one was offered to me and I agreed to buy it. Unfortunately the seller backed out of the deal so this remains a hole in my bringback Tokarev collection. Collector of Vietnam and Korean War Sniper Weapons
