Infantry blue bib worn by a member of Company B 7th Cavalry sporting crossed sabres on his cap.

This is James Clifford Phillips who was killed in action with the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam on May 2, 1967. In the photo, he was probably serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Korea.

Phillips was a EM, so wondering if this wearing of these officer crossed sabres was a novelty sort of thing or a Battle Group/Battalion thing, Which if before ROAD and was still PENTOMIC would be the 1st Battle Group 7th Cavalry.

Gernot Bender of the 3rd Squadron 7th Cavalry wearing a cavalry yellow bib with the 3rd Infantry Division SSI. He was later posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in Vietnam while assigned to the 3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry in 1969.

White bib with full color 82nd Airborne Division SSI worn by a member of the 1st Squadron 17th Cavalry. His branch disc appears to be military intelligence and his "oval" for his jump wings appears to be cut edge and almost round in shape.

A officer of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment West Germany circa 1962-63 with a stylized ALLONS Blackhorse patch on a scarf. The scarf is probably Yellow, though it could be White. Curiously he wears no DIs on his Green Loops, note too a ribbon that looks like it's for the Good Conduct Medal.

Interesting combination on a soldier of the 41st Artillery Regiment (probably 1st Battalion at this point) of the 56th Field Artillery Command wearing Infantry blue shoulder cord and backings for his Infantry collar insignia and a scarlet bib for Artillery.

Infantry blue bib worn by a soldier assigned to the 172nd Infantry Brigade in the mid-70s. I mainly posted it to show the guys hair. Also notice that he is wearing a nylon name tape.

Now that is something else  I have seen this in my day, but here it would be Off Duty, guys who did have fro's would do something called Packing, in that they would put a nylon stocking over their heads at night to "Pack it Down", so on duty the next day you wouldn't even know they had a Fro. At Hood May 80-May 81, the Company Supply Sgt was one who did this, seen him once at the local NCO Club, wow what a completely different look, the others too :D

A Signal Corps officer wearing what I assume is an orange bib. Based on his tapes, I assume this dates from the mid-60s but note he appears to be wearing a Glider Bade. I can't tell if it's pin-on or sew-on. Col. Dorney was a 1946 graduate of West Point.
