graffspee Posted January 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 15, 2013 I just picked up this Navy APH-5 from the son of a recently deceased Navy Aviator... He was a Navy Pilot from 1951-1966 and reached the Rank of Lt.Commander. I am trying to find more information on his service and what aircraft he flew early in his career. I do know he flew with VW-4 flying WC-121-N "Warning Star" aircraft from 1963 to 1966....
boxerdogi Posted January 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 16, 2013 Great helmet and in great shape! Helmets with those push style visor knobs are hard to find. Finding additional information can be tough. The son is your best source...maybe he has some old paper work. The internet and this forum are the next best source. Good luck, and thanks for sharing...Tom.
Bebel Posted January 19, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 19, 2013 I was in contact with this person. He told me that his father was a "hurricane hunter" squadron member in his career. Very beautiful helmet. Franck
